How to use this page

Phone Number Challenge – 30 Numbers
Train one of the hardest parts of telephone listening: hearing and writing long phone numbers accurately.
Press play and write down the number you hear. There are 30 numbers in total. Try the audio once without looking at the answers. Then listen a second time and repair any gaps.
1. Listen for the complete number.
2. Write digits only – do not worry about the introductory sentence.
3. If you miss one digit, leave a small gap and keep listening.
4. Use the second listening to complete or correct your answer.
5. Open the solutions only when you are finished.

A PLACE I WOULD SHOW YOU
I live in Riverton, a small town near a river. It isn't a huge place, but there are lots of things to do and I like living here.
My favourite place is the park near the town centre. It has a football field, a small café and a path beside the river. I often meet my friends there after school. In summer we play football, sit on the grass or just talk. There are also some shops in the high street, so we sometimes go shopping.
My school is about two kilometres from my home. I usually cycle there, but when the weather is bad I go by bus. I like my town because it is quiet and friendly. The downside is that there aren't many big shops. I still prefer living in a small town because the countryside is very close.
